Why should I join an ASHI Chapter?
The strength of ASHI in in its Chapters. ASHI Chapters are the
grass-roots perspective that is needed to help set policies and get a real feel
for the member's concerns. The advantages of a Chapter are numerous. The
opportunities for local promotion of your involvement in ASHI, enhanced
legislative clout, improved educational opportunities, (including the ability to
attain a significant amount of MRC's) are only a few. Also, there are
several benefits available from ASHI to Chapters, that members-at-large do not
receive. These include direct representation in ASHI via the Council of
Representatives, monthly newsletters to the leadership from Headquarters, State
Legislative updates, information from the new Chapter Communication newsletter,
The Communicator, and the opportunity (at least partially reimbursed) to take
part in the annual Chapter Leadership Day program, in conjunction with the
National fall Board Meeting.
ASHI believes that members who are active participants in their
local
Chapters are more likely to remain with ASHI, and to experience the benefits of
membership more fully. Associates in particular benefit from the local
involvement that a Chapter can provide.
The Suncoast Chapter of ASHI is a local chapter. Our membership
comprises the best home inspectors in the Tampa Bay Area. Our Parent
Society is ASHI, the leading nationwide professional organization for home
inspectors.
Your membership with ASHI must precede your membership with our
Suncoast ASHI Chapter. Simply put, once you are accepted as an Associate
with ASHI, you qualify to be an Associate with our Suncoast Chapter. In the same
fashion, once you become a Certified Inspector with ASHI, you then qualify to
become a Certified Inspector
with our Suncoast Chapter.
As such, your road to Suncoast ASHI Chapter membership begins
with ASHI. To begin your journey you may contact ASHI National

Once an Associate of ASHI National, you may submit your
membership application to our Suncoast ASHI Chapter. You can print out an
application to fill out and return by
clicking here.
In the meantime, our Suncoast ASHI Chapter invites you to be our
guest. Non-members are welcome to attend 2 meetings as a guest. After 2
meetings, you will be required to join the chapter as a candidate or a full
member. The Suncoast ASHI Chapter meetings are held at either
Tucson's Restaurant or Inspection Training Associates (ITA).

Many members and guests arrive by 6:30p.m. for social time prior to the
meeting which begins at 7:00p.m.
Guests, Associates and Certified Inspectors to the Suncoast ASHI Chapter
meetings pay a $15 fee at the door. This fee pays for meeting attendance along
with the buffet dinner. Guests may attend Suncoast ASHI meetings 2
times. As noted above, the charge at the
door will be $30. Beginning with the 3rd meeting, guests will be required to
become a chapter Associate or full member.
In closing, please know that you have contacted the best
professional association for home inspectors. What you may not know is that the
local comradery and exchange of ideas as well as the education (we have an
outside speaker at most chapter
meetings) will be essential to your success in the Home Inspection profession.
